HEC-ULg launches a brand new program in Marketing: a streamlined, comprehensive, and contemporary curriculum, calling on leaders of world renowned companies in the teaching, to develop awareness of industry best practices, and gain real-world experience.

Rossel brings e-business to HEC-ULg and sets up a chair in digital media and e-commerce. Objective: to train high-level specialists and future managers of the European digital economy. Digital Business is henceforth a wholesome component of marketing education.

Talented marketing professional excel in creative production and enterprise control. They want to start things and dictate where projects will go. They revel in decision-making, and love analyzing research data versus the subjective findings. They influence through language and ideas, build relationships, communicate, lead.

HEC Liege received the prestigious international EQUIS accreditation, in December 2016. EQUIS is the leading international system of quality assessment, improvement, and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration. The marketing department will have access to a new world of thought-provoking and cutting-edge scholars, researchers, and practitioners for our key research and education programs.



The Marketing Group at HEC-ULg is defined by people and ideas. Our mission is to generate, disseminate and apply marketing knowledge by engaging in teaching, research and executive education with an international and creative scope, in line with our School's ethical values and dedicated to the development of our region.

Through quality education and real-world experience, we prepare our students for exciting and rewarding careers in marketing. Our program is designed to develop analytical skills as well as intuition, logic, and creativity among students not only in classroom settings, but also through internship and co-op opportunities, by touring corporations, and exposure to visiting marketing executives.

The Marketing Group also builds strong partnerships with the industry through its corporate partnership program.

A new Master program in marketing

Chair in Digital Media and E-Commerce

The Rossel Group, one of the major Belgian press groups, and HEC-Management School of the University of Liege, have decided to create a chair in Digital Media and e-Commerce.

To remedy the lack of managers trained in the various pillars of the digital economy, the two founding partners have developed a university training program meeting the market's demands.

Very soon, other companies have wished to join them in this project so as to form a cluster of entreprises eager to bring innovations and patterns of understanding in the current digital revolution. To date, the chair counts five founding partners: The Rossel Group, PFS Web, Selligent, The Walloon Telecommunications Agency and Google.

Our chair gives us the chance to develop a programme which cleverly bridges the worlds of academia and business. Its main benefits concern the co-engineering of this training and the creation of a core network of companies aiming at outstanding performance in the field of the digital economy. Networking and good practice exchange thus become an integral part of the group's activity.

The chair organizes the Master in Digital Marketing & Sales Management (DMSM), a unique training program in Belgium. HEC-ULg is the first Belgian university to create a programme offering managers the chance to specialize in marketing while integrating 3 pillars of the digital economy: digital marketing, e-commerce and big data.

Prof. Dr. Zelal Ates is the holder of the Chair in Digital Media and E-Commerce at HEC-ULg.
